Doubletree Cincinnati Airport

Got in late at night and the shuttle driver and desk blamed each other as to why I waited a lot longer than the five-ten minutes quoted.

The hotel was great to stay at it was clean and the heat worked and so did the air. I would recommend anyone to come and stay and enjoy themselves. It was quit and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel was under heavy construction when we were there. While we didn't hear any noises (Including the airport) it was difficult to get around the hotel, and the pool was down.

Hotel was under renovation, so everything is dusty and dirty. I found out that the hotel is no longer a Radisson, but is now Sussex Hotel. When it was a Radisson, I was told that I could park and fly if I stay at the hotel. When I arrived, I found out that I could only get one day free parking and have to pay $6 per day for the rest of the time. The hotel staff was not very friendly; quite curt. This hotel was under MAJOR reconstruction and should have been listed as a one star until construction was finished. Half of the lobby was boarded up with plywood. The pool and jacuzzi was closed due to the construction. The first room we were put in was very hot and the air conditioning was not working. The smoke alarm fell off the wall and did not have a battery in it. The date for last service on the alarm was 12/01. We were moved to another room and the Temperature was a little better but the Air conditioning still did not work. No windows in the room could be opened so no relief from the heat of the building. I looked at the smoke alarm in that second room and its last service date was in 2003. With no sprinklers in the rooms this could be very dangerous! At this time, the Radisson is undergoing major renovation. While the rooms are clean, they are dated - thus the need for renovation. Due to the construction, the parking is a bit difficult - but free - and the lobby is unusable. The room was clean but the carpeting was a bit old and dirty - not comfortable to walk on. Rooms were indeed sound proof, clean room, nice staff.

The pool, fitness center, lobby areas and many other areas were under renovation. If you plan to relax before or after your flight, this hotel would be a challenge.

I stayed in this hotel a few months ago, and did not like it very much. This time I was in the tower and the room was better. The area where my room was last time has been gutted, and the rooms there will be replaced with two for every three. ...read more
